ABOUT RHYTHMIC GYMNASTICS

Rhythmic gymnastics is a sport combining elements of ballet, dance, and acrobatic skills. Gymnasts perform body difficulties as well as handling one of five different apparatus: rope, hoop, ball, clubs, and ribbon. They are judged on their execution, artistry, and difficulty. Rhythmic gymnastics first became an Olympic sport for individuals in 1984, then for groups in 1996.

This unique and beautiful sport showcases flexibility, agility, balance, artistry, and hand-eye coordination. It teaches girls the lifelong skills of discipline, perseverance and creativity, as well as gaining lifelong friendships with their team.
